The first houses were probably built in 1000 around the church San Patrizio which lay on a hill between the Tenna and Ete Morto rivers. Two centuries after, Torre San Patrizio was mentioned as a “castle” under Fermo’s jurisdiction, and in 1400 it was encircled with walls, interrupted by the Porta del Sole (the only access to the village).

The village’s past, marked by many events, is still re-evoked by the walls - which were rearranged between the 18th and the 19th centuries – and by a slender medieval structure.
The Porta del Sole was replaced by an oval small square, enriched by a beautiful fountain. Walking through the narrow streets of picturesque hamlets (in which craftsmen still work renewing the traditional shoe-making activity) visitors may reach the small church Delle Rose, an ancient building without foundations. It is also possible to admire the church San Salvatore (built in 1200 and modified in the late 18th century), dominated by a belfry. The latter was added in 1901, and it faces the adjacent town hall, provided with a tall tower, which has been completely restored.

The village still buzzes with activities, both at cultural and folkloristic levels. Its yearly programme of events comprises many initiatives, whose main aim is to preserve the great artistic and historic heritage of Torre San Patrizio.
