About the city of “Palma in Agro Piceno”, important for its port, has said the Latin writer Plinio il Vecchio.

The coastal zone between the rivers Tesino and Chienti is called, in the ancient geographic papers of the area, as "Agro Palmense".

The same zone is famous in all the empire for the production of a most valuable wine called exactly Palmense.

Probably the ancient Palm was on the hill to South of the Ete river.

The actual Torre di Palma, however, it is formed in the middle age perhaps around one Roman tower of sight for initiative of some monks.

The village develops to thanks to its position, representing one risen of hinge between the activities of sea and those agricultural inside. After a short period of communal autonomy, in sec the XIII it becomes "castle" of the city of Fermo to which it will remain under the power until the unification of Italy.
