Repeatedly contended in the Middle Age, the historical centre of Massignano has preserved, in many centuries, the testimony of that eventful and prosperous period with the suggestive remains of Forcella’s castle and some ruins of ancient walls.
Walking through the ways of this village it’s possible to see the elegant facades of many palaces built between the 15th and the 18th century.
Next to Garibaldi square, visitors can appreciate the Augustinian ex-complex (at present residence of the municipal administration) enriched by the civic tower and, the church of San Giacomo Maggiore which preserves a splendid paintings by Vittore Crivelli (14thcentury) and a rich artworks collection holds in the parish museum annexed.
