Acqualagna in Le Marche is known as the truffle capital of the world thanks to the - Fiera nazionale del tartufo.-

White Truffles are found in central Italy, and are harvested in late Fall. The 45th National Festival of the White Truffle begins on the 31st of October, and goes through the 14th of November in Acqualagna.

The festival brings foodies from Europe, the US and even Japan.  

Acqualagna is a town of less than 5,000 people, and it literally explodes during the festival. It's recommended to make reservations ahead of time, even in surrounding towns.
